The last couple of days God has been impressing on my heart how much we husbands should value our wives. Ephesians 5:25 says “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,” We should always keep this in mind. My wife is a God send to me and is very precious in my life. All husbands should thank God for the wife that He have to us. In Eph 5:25 we see that we should love our wives as Christ loved the church. In 1 Jn 4:19 we are told that we are able to love God because He first loved us. Christ had a “first type” love for the church. Christ was not responding to the love of the church when he was hanging on the cross! He was on the cross because He loved us first.
Just as Christ first loved the church so we husbands should have a first type love for our wives. If we demonstrate that first type love then we are doing what God has commanded of us and we can leave the results up to Him.
